The thing I love the most about the new Contact Mapping digital business card is that it includes a bio… and that bio can make you unforgettable!
I hate to admit it, but in full transparency, before I became a Contact Mapper, I would put somebody in my phone, and then I would forget who they were. All I had when I looked at my contact list was a name and a phone number. Who are they? Why are they in my phone? They must have been important to me when I met them because I put them in my phone, but now I can’t remember who they are.
The scary thing about this is, it got me thinking about how many people have put my information in their phone, and they have no idea who I am. By coincidence or not, I recently got a text message from somebody saying “Hey you’re in my phone and I’m sorry I can’t remember who you are. Why are you in my phone?” At first, I was annoyed, and then of course I had to give grace because how many times have I done the exact same thing?
Well, that will never happen to me anymore and if you follow the simple directions below it will never happen to you as well!
With the new Contact Mapping Digital Business Card, now instead of just giving and texting somebody my name and phone number, I text them the link to my digital business card and tell them that they can download all of my information as a contact quickly and easily. And because I send them this link, now when they download my contact card into their phone, they now have not only my name and phone number, but also a picture of me, my social media information, and the bio I wrote to help them remember who I am, and why they want to stay connected with me.
This bio is my secret weapon to make sure that I am always unforgettable.
Many times people shy away from writing a bio because it feels overwhelming, but I have broken it down into simple steps to make this super easy, so you can have a bio that makes you unforgettable too!
I’m going to use our CEO Adrian Chenault‘s bio as an example. I will break it down into very small parts and all you have to do is just fill in the blanks with what you want to say and then we will put it together at the end and you’ll have a terrific bio that will make you unforgettable just like me.
Let’s Look at Adrian’s bio
The Parts of the Bio
Here are the simple parts of a great bio.
Part #1 – An introduction. Hi! I am happy to meet you! Now fill in your own introduction.
____________________________________________________________________
Part #2 – Who are you? I am the CEO of Contact Mapping. Now fill in who you are/what you do.
____________________________________________________________________
Part #3 – Why do you do what you do? Why did you decide to do what you do? Why is this important to you? Why do you love it? Now fill in why you love what you do/ who you help.
______________________________________________________________________
Part #4 – A little about your personal life. This little bit of information humanizes you and makes you more of a real person than the person reading your bio. Add things like, where you live. Are you married? Do you have kids? Pets? Hobbies? Now fill in a little personal info about you and your life.
_______________________________________________________________________
Part #5 – Your ask. This part is simple but very important. People do not know what to do next unless you tell them. So a simple reach back out to me with your contact info can make the difference between someone who just downloads your contact info, and someone who reaches back out to you and starts a conversation. Many people just use what Adrian wrote. You can also make it your own. Now write your own or copy Adrian’s ask.
________________________________________________________________________
The next step is easy!
Just put the parts together (Part #1, #2, #3, #4, #5) and voila! You now have a bio that makes you unforgettable! It is that easy!
Love you all!
