Hey everyone, it is Elizabeth with Contact Mapping, and I want to talk to you about something that’s been kind of weighing on my heart and it’s, what are you known for? What’s the message that’s coming across. Do you know what the message is? So let’s chat about this for a minute. I had this amazing conversation with one of our clients and just love this person dearly. And I’ve had this conversation with several different people recently, because there’s so much stuff out there about, you know, “Oh, well, if you do things this way… And cold prospect this way… And if you do this this way… You’ll get more people to sign up” and stuff like that. And the first question I had to ask was what happens after that?

You do the same thing the next month? It’s not really what the business is about, is it? You see, when somebody thinks of you, the question becomes “what are you known for?” Do they know you as an integrous person? Do they know you as a person who really genuinely cares? Do they know you as a person who just wants to sell them stuff? Have you ever seen people like ghost people or have you ever ghosted somebody just because it’s like “Holy crap, all they want to do is try to sell me their product or shove their product my throat”? (For lack of a better way of putting it). And it got me really thinking, the people who are the most successful in most of these areas of business that we’re seeing, are the ones who genuinely are really working with people and generally caring about people.

So I was a Clubhouse last Thursday, we have this amazing Clubhouse room. And if you haven’t been in with us, I invite you to join us tomorrow. And we were talking about the secrets of being able to authentically connect with people, the secrets of being that power connector. We were talking about these things and every single person on there, even though what they were saying was different words, it was all the exact same message. It was all, they wanted people to feel like they cared about them and they wanted to feel like people cared about them too. I remember being pitched and I get pitched all the time. I’m not kidding. Like, it’s crazy because sometimes I’m like, do you even know me? Do you know my values? Do you know my heart? Anything at all?

And I had this one person pitch me and it was just this complete “Hey, wait, this is a limited sale. And I just want you to sign up” and stuff like that. And I’m like, “do you even know who I am?” It’s like, everything about me is heart, is about relationship, is about helping other people and things like that. And it just seemed like such a strange message for somebody to send to me. And what it made me really realize is that person had no idea who I was, which made me realize that if they didn’t really have an interest in who I was as a real person, I didn’t really want to even respond to their message or anything else, because all they were trying to do is sell me something.

Here’s the point of this: at Contact Mapping, we teach you how to authentically connect with people. And in that authentic connection, be able to achieve everything that you want to achieve through the power of your network. You know, the funny thing is that nobody out there really says “I just want to be a better sales person.” Most people say “I wish I had that kind of network”, “I wish I had the connections that Grant Cardone has”. You know, if you’ve been watching Undercover Billionaire, the final show was last night. And I don’t know what I’m going to do on Wednesday night now because it was my absolute favorite. But here’s the point when you authentically connect with people and you get to know who they are, you can actually find out exactly what it is that the person needs. Maybe the person is looking for a product like yours, but because they have no connection with you whatsoever, they don’t trust you. They don’t know you. They don’t believe you. The walls come up automatically because everybody’s trying to just sell something on social media. These days it’s just like sell, sell, sell. And it’s like it feels kind of yucky. And it feels kind of nasty.

So what I want to encourage you is that, the people that I see that are having the most success are building incredible networks, but they’re building incredible networks by the power of relationship, by the power of reaching out to people and actually doing authentic connections by the power of waiting. You know I love how, what Richard Bliss Brooke says: If you ask for Richard Bliss Brook, when is the right time to tell somebody about your product or opportunity, It’s when that person has invited you, it’s when that person has said the need. It’s the same thing, Tom Chenault says: wait for the person’s need, but you can’t find out that need if you’re just trying to hurry up and sell, or hurry up and recruit, or hurry up and do something; it takes an authentic conversation.

You know, we’ve got a class coming up and it’s Power Prospecting, but it’s not prospecting the way you think, it’s prospecting authentically, it’s being able to make those connections. It’s being able to really see what somebody needs and what they need help with, and being able to connect with that. And I’ve got to tell you something from experience, the people who do those kinds of things, they build tribes. They build tribes of people who don’t want to leave. They’re not constantly having to rebuild their teams over and over and over again. Their people stay and they stay because of the community. They stay because of the tribe. They stay because of shared vision. They share, they stay because of shared love.

And these things are huge. So again, if you were on our Clubhouse today, it was the exact same message with every single peer person. So many incredible leaders were speaking today with us. And yet they all have the exact same message. Love people, be authentic, truly connect with people and you’ll never have a problem building your business.

So I just want to encourage you today: what are you known for? When somebody thinks of you, what do they think of? I’d ask a couple people if you don’t know. But the most important thing is: inside your heart, what do you want to be known for? Do you want to be known as the person on social media who just tries to shove everything down somebody’s throat? Do you want to be known on social media as the person who authentically cares about people, the person who authentically really wants people to be successful, the one who would go out of somebody’s way to be able to help somebody.

That’s what you need to think about because at the end of this life, your amount of sales, isn’t the thing you’re going to be thinking about. It’s going to be your relationships. It’s going to be the joy that you had on this earth. And that joy comes from being an amazing person. And then that first step is being authentic with people and loving people. So if there’s anything I can do to help you, please let me know. I love you guys so much. And if you didn’t join our Clubhouse last Thursday, I hope you come tomorrow,, because again, absolutely amazing speakers, amazing leaders, joining us to talk about the power and the secrets of being able to have those authentic connections. I love you guys, and I hope you have a great day. Bye.
