So therefore I would never take a chance by quote, “pushing too hard” and in my mind pushing was asking them to buy what I had to sell. What I came to realize eventually is that my definition of what selling was and what my function was, was wrong.
I thought that selling was something you did TO people. I saw selling as something evil. I saw it as a manipulative, task that somehow got people to do something they didn’t want to do or shouldn’t do.
The change in mindset for me and that I think that most people need is to understand that selling is not something you do to people. It’s something you do FOR people. And if you’ve asked great questions and you have a great product or you have a great service or a great opportunity, if you’re going to do something for them, then you need to ask them to buy.”
